Many people arrive at Family Constellation work with a relationship pattern they can name but have not been able to shift. It may be a familiar kind of conflict, a repeated distance, a sense of carrying too much, or the feeling of choosing the same dynamic in a new form.
There is rarely one simple explanation. Family Constellations offer a systemic lens: instead of asking only what is wrong with you or another person, the process asks what may be happening in the larger field of relationship, family history, belonging, and inherited loyalty.
Patterns can be personal and systemic
Our individual choices matter. So do the environments and relationships that shaped us. In a Family Constellation, a present-day question is considered alongside the family system it comes from. This can make room to notice connections that have been difficult to see from inside the pattern.
For some people, that means recognizing an old role in the family. For others, it means meeting grief, exclusion, or loyalty with more awareness. The purpose is not to assign blame or to create a fixed story about the past. It is to look with care at what may be asking to be seen.
A different question
Instead of asking, “Why do I keep doing this?” a Constellation may ask, “What larger relationship or loyalty could be shaping this familiar response?”
What a session can explore
Each session begins with the question that feels most alive. The process can explore areas such as:
- repeating conflict or distance in intimate relationships
- a persistent sense of responsibility for others
- difficulty receiving support, closeness, or belonging
- grief, family rupture, or a story that feels unfinished
- the pull between loyalty to family and movement toward your own life
The process does not promise a particular result. Often, the value is in gaining perspective and discovering a more honest relationship with what has been carried.
Private and group work
In a private session, you bring a specific question into a dedicated one-to-one space. In group work, someone may bring an issue while others participate as representatives. Both formats can offer meaningful information, and the right choice depends on your preference, timing, and the kind of support you are looking for.
Megan offers private online sessions worldwide and facilitates Family Constellations in Nosara, Costa Rica. Group gatherings are announced as they are scheduled.
A gentle place to begin
You do not need a complete family history or a perfectly formed question to begin. A discovery call can help you decide whether this work and the available format feel right for you.
Important note
Family Constellations facilitation is not psychotherapy, medical care, crisis support, or a substitute for licensed mental-health treatment.
